Drawing Activity

By doing this activity, I see that everything can be seen from many different perspectives. When doing research online, people explain things in thousands of different ways. For example, in computer science, a single simple problem can be done hundreds of different ways. This really shows that everyone has a specific style, and people need to be able to understand that style to make it effective.

In relation to the pictures, everything matters. Whether the people both know the same units, whether people’s hands are similar sizes, picture orientation, and simply whether you can see the picture in the same way. For example, I may see a semicircle and some lines, while other people may see a bird.

This activity really shows the need for practice in research. I was the second person to explain the picture, and I had some tools from the person who did it previously so I knew how to talk to how they think. It didn’t work the entire time, but it led to some parts of faster communication. Research is in some cases a two way street, where both parties need to contribute something. I would guess, if we did this activity a few more times, we would be able to do these drawings much quicker and with much more accuracy.

In relation to my project, I feel like this can help with me learning programming for my project. Between StackOverflow, source documentation, and Medium articles, there are many different ways to learn how to write a program. I feel I can learn that it takes multiple sources to understand how to solve an issue, so by looking in more than one place, I may be able to make something more efficient and better at its task.
